Pinyon helps organizations preserve expertise, build workforce capability, and prepare for change.

About Kevin Reed

Over the past three decades, I've worked alongside manufacturers, aviation organizations, technology companies, healthcare organizations, utilities, and Fortune 500 businesses to solve one common challenge: helping people perform complex work more effectively.

My career began in instructional design, but over time I realized that the real challenge was rarely "building training." More often, organizations needed to preserve critical expertise before it was lost, standardize how work was performed, or prepare employees for significant operational change.

Today, Pinyon Learning brings those experiences together to help organizations capture knowledge, develop workforce capability, and reduce the operational risk that comes when expertise exists only in the heads of a few experienced employees.

How I Work

  • Start with the Business Problem

Training isn't always the answer. Every project begins by understanding the operational challenge the organization is trying to solve.

  • Capture Real Expertise

The most valuable knowledge often isn't documented. I work directly with experienced employees to preserve practical expertise before it disappears.

  • Build Practical Solutions

Whether the solution is instructor-led training, e-learning, job aids, procedures, certification, or knowledge capture, the goal is always improved operational performance.

Experience Across Industries

What you can expect:

  • Practical recommendations grounded in operational reality.

  • Collaborative work with subject matter experts.

  • Respect for the experience of the workforce.

Why “Pinyon”?

The pinyon pine thrives in demanding environments because of its deep roots and resilience. Knowledge within an organization works much the same way. When expertise is preserved and shared, organizations become stronger, more adaptable, and better prepared for whatever comes next.

Every organization has knowledge it can't afford to lose.
